Police launch investigation into man’s death in Elm Park

An investigation has been launched into the death of a man in Elm Park, after a post-mortem revealed his injuries were “consistent with a road traffic collision.”

The man, in his 80s, was initially thought to have fallen near the junction of South End Road and Coronation Drive last Wednesday evening.

Officers on patrol were flagged down by passers-by to help the man at around 9.40pm

He was taken to hospital but sadly died.

A coroner has today requested police look into the circumstances of the man’s death and a crime scene is now in place.
