Police appeal after attempted ATM theft in Woodford Green

Investigators want to speak to the man pictured above.

An appeal has been launched by police investigating the attempted theft of a cashpoint in Woodford Green.

A van drove up to the ATM at a service station in Chigwell Road in February.

Three men got out and tried to steal the machine but they were unsuccessful and fled the station.

The van had the words “The Best Things in Life” written on the side.

This van was used in the attempted theft.

The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, 14 February.

Police have now released images of a man who they believe was in the van prior to the attempted theft, and say they would like to speak to him.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Officers have made attempts to locate the individual, but are now requesting the assistance of the public.

“Anyone who recognises the man in these images is asked to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting crime reference number 4403336/19.”
