The victim is being supported by specially-trained officers
Essex Police responded to a number of calls reporting a disturbance in Chestnut Avenue at around 10pm on Saturday 4, September.
Officers found a large number of teenagers had been fighting in the street following a house party.
Once the group was dispersed, it was reported that a teenage girl who is believed to have attended the party may have been sexually assaulted.
She is currently being supported by specially-trained officers.
The boy has been released on bail until Thursday, 30 September.
