The attack on the victim, who is aged in his 20s, happened in Tennyson Way at around 2am this morning.
His condition is described as non-life-threatening.
No arrests have been made but officers are appealing for witnesses to get in touch with them on 101, quoting reference CAD 662/17 Aug.
