The victim’s body was discovered on the westbound carriageway early yesterday morning.
Police were called at around 3.50am to reports of a seriously injured man in the road.
He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
No vehicles had stopped at the scene.
A suspect was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
He has been taken into custody at a local police station.
