Police say a man injured at Barking station yesterday had been stabbed.

The victim suffered a head injury in an assault, but officers did not initially say how the injury was caused.

Today, Barking and Dagenham Police has tweeted more information about the stabbing.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to the attack to get in touch with them.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact police following a serious assault outside Barking Train Station yesterday evening at approximately 6pm, where a male sustained knife stab injuries to his head. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening or changing. pic.twitter.com/uC3GDCcBJ9
