The branch in The Liberty Shopping Centre is shut
Its parent company says it will concentrate on the branches inside other stores because of changes in the way customers buy technology.
Around 2,900 people will lose their jobs in the shakeup.
A sign in the shop window said it would be closed until 10am but it was still shut at 11.30am.
Carphone Warehouse also has stores in Hornchurch, Ilford, Barking, Brentwood, Loughton, and Lakeside which will shut.
The decision to close the branches was not related to covid-19, although the company said it did expect to see an impact.
