Police name man and woman who died in Dagenham murder-suicide

A woman and man who died in an apparent murder-suicide in Dagenham have been named by police.

Esther Egbon, 30, was found dead in Whalebone Lane South at around 12.50pm on Saturday, 8 August.

Around two hours later, Igie Erabor, 36, was found unresponsive nearby in Hawkwell House, Gosfield Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the two were known to each other.

Both suffered knife wounds to the neck, according to their post-mortem examinations.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “No arrests have been made and at present no other parties are being sought in connection with the matter.

“The investigation continues in order to establish the full circumstances.”
