Officers had tried to stop the vehicle at around 4.20pm yesterday afternoon but it made off from them.
In a Tweet, police said the car had been stolen from the victim at knifepoint.
A police helicopter helped officers on the ground pursue the car and tactical contact was used to stop it in Broadmead Road.

The road was closed for around an hour after the incident yesterday afternoon, but it reopened at around 6pm.
