Man charged after fire at Buckhurst Hill pub

A 48-year-old man has been charged after a deliberate fire at a pub in Buckhurst Hill.

Emergency Services were called at around 4.50pm on Saturday, 6 February after the owner discovered the blaze on the ground floor of the Three Colts, in Princes Road.

No-one was injured.

The ground floor of the building suffered fire, smoke and heat damage.

Spiros Schulz, of Eleven Acre Rise, Loughton was arrested on suspicion of arson shortly before 6pm.

He has now been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered, arson with intent to endanger life, breaching a restraining order.

Schulz is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today.
