Police wanted to let the boy “know that he was not alone” after attending to him in response to a call from a concerned third party.
After arranging for him to be taken into appropriate care, the officers raised over £1,000.
Money raised was used to buy him clothes, toys, games and books.
The officers also contacted Arsenal Football Club who donated replica training kit and clothing.
On social media, the Metropolitan Police said: “We are incredibly proud of the team who went above and beyond to provide the young boy with some comfort.”
