The brigade received 15 calls after the fire broke out at the property in Raven Road just before 10pm last night.
Fifteen fire engines and crews from a number of surrounding areas including Woodford, Leytonstone, Walthamstow, Chingford and Hainault attended the scene.
Part of the ground floor, first floor and roof of the building were alight.
No one was reported injured.
The fire took 3.5 hours to bring under control although firefighters have remained at the scene throughout the night.
Station Commander Paul Green, who was at the scene, said: “Firefighters worked hard to bring this significant blaze under control.
“Due to the nature of the business, there were a lot of materials including bed linen and towels inside which caught alight.
“The fire created a lot of thick smoke so we asked local residents to keep windows and doors closed.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
