Police are encouraging witnesses to come forward
A car crashed into a tree on the A12 at around 2am on Monday, 21 March.
Emergency services recovered a 26-year-old man from the vehicle but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another 31-year-old man was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The Metropolitan Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or who has dash cam footage a black Vauxhall Vectra being driven at speed, to contact them by calling 101 and quoting CAD 447/21 Mar.
They have also asked anyone with CCTV to check their footage and to contact them if it captured the incident.
