Witnesses are being urged to contact Essex Police
A group of five males assaulted a security guard and took the devices from the Apple Store at around 12.20pm.
Detectives are investigating the incident but no arrests have been made so far.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the shopping centre at the time and may have any information which could assist with our enquiries to contact us,” said a spokesperson for Essex Police.
“You can let us know by submitting a report on our website or by using our online Live Chat service available Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) between 10am-9pm.”
Witnesses can also contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident 42/289579/22.
