Snowfall in Upminster
The country faced it’s coldest night so far as temperatures plummeted to minus 15 celsius at Braemar in Aberdeenshire yesterday (Sunday, 11 December).
Closer to home, temperatures dipped to minus 6 in Romford, Barking and Ilford yesterday morning.
All flights have been suspended at Stansted Airport after it was forced to close its runway due to the bad weather.
London City, Heathrow and Gatwick also cancelled or delayed flights.
There’s ongoing disruption to both the roads and rails too.
Videos on social media show an ambulance stuck among standstill traffic, when parts of the M25 closed for several hours throughout the early hours of this morning.
Severe delays continue on London Overground. A number of underground lines are also affected including Jubilee, Northern and Central Line.
A yellow weather warning for ice is in place across the South East until 11am tomorrow ( Tuesday, 13 December).
