Lesley Holding completed the wing walk in Biggleswade last week
Lesley Holding took on the challenge in Biggleswade on Friday, 7 April to raise money for the sepsis charity, The Sepsis UK Trust.
Lesley’s nephew, Tyler Morgan passed away suddenly on Tuesday, 17 November 2015 at just 11 years old.
Tyler would now be 18-years-old.
Lesley, who also works for T Cribb & Sons Funeral Directors in Rainham, said: “When I decided to do the wingwalk, I thought it was a great idea. But this should of stayed in my head. I was so scared.
“Climbing up onto the plane was bad enough. Anyway, I took a deep breath and I knew I was safe. The team were unbelievable. Gave me so much support and assured me.
“The views are amazing. But extremely windy, noisy and very cold.
“Once I landed I got very emotional. The support and donations I have received have overwhelmed me.
This will really make a difference to Sepsis UK.
“I am so proud of myself. This was a huge achievement for me being scared of heights.”
More than £2,000 has been raised so far for the charity following an initial target of £1,500.
“We just need as much support as we possibly can and as much donations as we possibly can to try to raise awareness,” she said.
“It’s a terrible, terrible thing to happen.
“It was that sudden so this means alot, just to raise awareness and raise as much as I can for sepsis so other families don’t go through this.
Anyone wanting to donate, can do so by heading to Lesley’s JustGiving page.
