Police were called at around 10.45pm on Saturday, 17 June, to shots fired in Blackhorse Lane.

Officers attended the scene along with ambulance colleagues – who took the man to hospital in a critical condition.

Detectives from Specialist Crime are investigating supported by colleagues from the North East Command Unit.

Police say no arrests have been made.

Following the shooting, a Section 60 was authorised to assist officers as they worked to ensure the area was safe.
