Jez will be carrying out the fundraiser next week
Jez, who has additional needs, will be walking up the 33 floors of Pioneer Point alongside her mum on Wednesday, 12 July at 2pm – in the hope of raising £500 pounds for Alpaca Acres in Colchester.
She set up a fundraising page after the farm lost their emperor tent in a storm which provided vital shelter and allowed them to continue their work welcoming visitors in all weathers.
The small family run company are open to everyone but specialise on supporting children, teens and adults with additional needs, physical disabilities and mental health issues.
Jez says she’s hoping to raise £500 to help them.
She said: “I’m going to raise money for Alpaca Acres. They (the farm) said it was amazing and they liked it.
“I made a t-shirt relating to Alpaca Acres that I’m going to be wearing on the day. We’re also going to be wearing high vis’s.
“I’ve had alot of support from my mum.”
Jez will be doing the climb alongside her mum, Debbie Salter to raise money.
Debbie says: “My 11 year old daughter has visits to Alpaca Acres very often. She has additional needs and benefits greatly from going there.
“It’s a really nice cause – it’s a fantastic farm. It really helps alot of people particularly with additional needs & with peoples wellbeing so please do donate.
“We set the target at £500 but obviously we’d like to raise as much as we can because things can be quite expensive and we want them to be able to make the best shelter possible, so we’re looking for sponsors – we’d really appreciate that!
“All the money raised will go straight to Dawn and Paige at Alpaca Acres for them to build their shelter and to continue the unique and fantastic work that they do.
“We would like to thank everyone who sponsors Jez in her climb. Every donation is appreciated regardless of the amount, during these difficult times.
“We would also like to thank Hannah from Realstar and Cassie and everyone at Pioneer Point for allowing this to go ahead. You have been very supportive and accommodating and it is much appreciated.”
Anyone who’d like to donate can do so via the fundraising page.
