Officers were called to a disturbance at a property close to New Road, shortly after 3.40am on Friday, 6 October, where a man had suffered a serious injury. Despite the efforts of medics, the man died at the scene.
A 31-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested yesterday (Sunday, 8 October) on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
These follow the arrest of a 21-year-old man on Saturday, 7 October on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
All arrests are in addition to the arrest of a 21-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Currently, all four remain in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Terry Balding said: “This has been a fast-moving investigation, with four arrests, and we will continue to work at pace to identify the circumstances that lead to this man’s death.
“We continue to believe that this is an isolated incident but appreciate that it’s a concerning time for the community.
“I would continue to encourage anyone with information to come forward to officers who are supporting the community with high-visibility patrols today and speak to us.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could help the police’s investigation is asked to get in touch using a dedicated online portal.
