The appeal gifts donated toys and presents to under-privileged children across Havering, Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge.
Romford BID and GBP Estates will be supporting the campaign once again. Residents wishing to donate presents will be able to drop them off at the Time FM studio in the Liberty shopping centre or GBP Estates in Victoria Road.
The Body Shop, located on South Street will also be collecting donations for this year’s campaign.
Donations will be accepted up until Friday, 15 December in order to give time for distribution.
Alternatively, donations can be made online via the appeal’s Go Fund Me page which is being run by Romford BID. All of the money raised online will be used to buy toys from local shops, many of whom have kindly agreed to offer discounts to purchase the toys and gifts needed.
All toys and gifts will be distributed to those in need via charities such as Women’s Aid, Salvation Army, Peabody Trust, Havering Social Services, Queens and King George’s Hospitals and many others ahead of Christmas Day.
Last year’s Give a Child a Christmas campaign meant that over 3000 local children received a gift with the funds raised.
This year, the appeal aims to reach more children in need and welcomes any physical gift or online funding donations.
Romford BID Director, Julie Frost said: “The ‘Give a Child a Christmas’ campaign is very special appeal and we are incredibly proud to be supporting it once again.
“The generous donations make a huge difference in the local community so we hope everyone can support it as much as possible.”
