Officers were called to the crash in Aspen Way, near the Prestons Road junction, just before 3am on Friday, 13 December.
A 29-year-old pedestrian died at the scene – despite the efforts of paramedics.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police says “the man’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.”
The 23-year-old driver of the car, which was a white Audi RS Q3, stopped at the scene.
The man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed to return on a date in mid-March pending further enquiries.
Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage to come forward.
