Police were called to Movers Lane at 9.22am today (Monday, 22 January) after reports of a collision involving a car and pedestrian near to the junction of Gordon Road.
Emergency services attended alongside paramedics from LAS and London’s Air Ambulance.
The pedestrian, who’s a man aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.
His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and has since been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police say the driver remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
Any witnesses, or those who have dash cam footage of the incident or moments leading up to it, are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1645/22Jan.
