A man’s died following a flat fire on Woolwich Common (credit: Google Maps)
Around 25 firefighters were called to a block of flats on Woolwich Common at around 5pm on Friday, 23 February where a blaze had broke out.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters led one man and two women from a neighbouring flat to safety by crews wearing breathing apparatus.
The fire was under control shortly before 7pm. Fire crews from Plumstead, Eltham, Lee Green and Greenwich fire stations were in attendance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Met Police and The London Fire Brigade.
