The victim was struck over the head with an object and robbed of cash at around 2am this morning (Wednesday, 28 February) in Station Parade.
The suspect is described as black male, in his early to late 20s, with short braided hair and a black jacket.
There have been no arrests made. Police say “enquiries are ongoing.”
Station Parade, between Ripple Road and Cambridge Road, has remained closed throughout this morning.
Bus routes EL1, EL2 and EL3 are all on diversion.
