A woman, 28, and a man, 29, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Emergency services were called to the collision in Ley Street where a 46-year-old man was found with life-threatening injuries, shortly after midnight on Sunday, 17 March.
He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The car had left the scene before police arrived although the car, a Range Rover, was later located at a garage in Ilford.
