Three men have been arrested after a 19-year-old man was attacked in Dagenham
A 19-year-old man was riding a bike on Whalebone Lane South at around 5.20pm on Thursday, 2 May when he was stabbed and shot by a group of men in broad daylight.
The group arrived and left the scene in three cars.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found the victim, with what appeared to be stab injuries. He was taken to hospital where it was confirmed that he had been stabbed and also shot.
The victim remains in hospital in a critical condition. His next of kin has been informed.
The men, aged 19, 19 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and remain in custody at this time.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or footage to come forward.
Detective Inspector Iain Wallace, who is leading the investigation for the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “We know that the victim was riding a bike on the street when he was attacked by a group of men who arrived at, and left the scene, in three cars.
“Three men are in custody and our enquiries are moving forward to identify the others involved.
“This wasn’t a disagreement or a fight, it was an ambush that has left a 19-year-old fighting for his life. If you have information that could help us take these dangerous individuals off your streets please do get in touch.“
A crime scene is in place at the location and local enquiries are ongoing.
