Investigators say the victim was “attacked and subjected to a tirade of homophobic abuse”, during the incident, which happened at around 9.15pm on Monday, 26 August.
An image of a man has been released by British Transport Police, which says it would like to speak to him.
Anyone who recognises the man is asked to contact BTP, by texting 61016, quoting incident 694 of 26/8.
