ELHAP have received a £1,000 donation from Amazon
ELHAP has helped to provide adventure play opportunities to disabled and disadvantaged children, young people and adults across East London and Essex since 1976.
They were recently announced as winner of London Play’s Adventure Playground of the Year Award 2019.
The money was welcomed as part of the “Amazon in the Community” programme, which supports communities in and around where the e-commerce company operates in the UK.
Rachel Joseph, Head of Development, ELHAP added: “ELHAP’s primary focus is to help make lives brighter for children and young people with disabilities in East London and Essex, and we’re very thankful to the Amazon team for their support.
“We hope to put this donation toward upgrading some of our play facilities, including a new trampoline and building a new “jail” that the kids love playing with!”
Amazon opened it’s UK head office in Shoreditch, East London in 2017 as part of its long-term commitment to the UK.
By the end of this year, the company will have over 29,500 permanent employees in the UK.
Fiona McDonnell, Director, Consumer Retail, Amazon, said: “ELHAP is a magical and unique charity that has helped to support tens of thousands of children and young people in the community, and we’re very happy to be able to provide our support with this donation.”
