Appeal launched after woman allegedly spat at and threatened on c2c train

An appeal has been launched by police who are investigating an incident on board a c2c train.

It was reported that a man began shouting at a woman and her two friends on the train between Stratford and Upminster.

He then allegedly spat at them, but missed the victims, before threatening to stab them.

The incident is said to have happened at around 9.50am on Saturday, 25 July.

In a statement, British Transport Police said: “Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.

“If you recognise him please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 377 of 27/07/20.

“Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
