Three people charged with knife offences in Newham

A total of five arrests were made following the Violent Crime Taskforce’s investigation

Three people from Newham have been charged after an investigation into the sale of offensive weapons on social media.

Jordan Lovett, and Loishana McKenzie, both of Grange Road, and a 17 year-old also from Newham were arrested for knife offences on Monday 8 February.

All three appeared at Thames Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, charged with marketing a knife in a way which is likely to stimulate or encourage violent behaviour and possession of criminal property.

22 year old Lovett, who is also charged with possession of cannabis, and the 17-year-old are due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 10 March.

23-year-old McKenzie is due to appear at Thames Magistrate’s Court again today.

Two men from Westminster were also charged following the Violent Crime Taskforce’s investigation.

61-year-old Fred Truman and 26-year-old Omar Truman, both of Abbey Orchard Street, are due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 10 March.
