Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Chingford, Enfield and Woodford crews were called to the blaze on The Ridgeway.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued the woman from a flat, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The ground-floor flat in a three-storey block was also damaged by the fire.
London Fire Brigade were called to the blaze at 11.45pm on Thursday, 22 April and brought the fire under control at 1.14am the following morning.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
