Police responded to reports of a group of males fighting in East Ferry Road at 8.30pm on Tuesday.
Officers found a man suffering from stab injuries, they attempted CPR before the London Ambulance Service arrived and took over.
Despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made as enquiries continue.
Police are working to confirm the victim’s identity and to inform his next of kin.
