A man, aged in his 20s, was attacked in Green Street and went to an east London hospital shortly after the incident.
Officers were called to the scene at 4.30pm and have launched an investigation into the stabbing.
No arrests have been made and anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact them by calling 101 and quoting CAD4809/13Jan.
