Officers were called to reports of the incident at around 8.15pm on Thursday, 18 July.
Two people were found with non life-threatening injuries.
Warrants were carried out in Chafford Hundred and Grays overnight on Saturday into Sunday and two men were arrested.
One of those men – 25 year-old Matthew Page, of Grenville Road, Chafford Hundred – has now been charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public space.
He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday, 22 July).
The other man arrested – a 53 year-old from Grays – has been released on bail until 2 September.
