Havering youngsters at the heart of new production

A new production at Queens Theatre features local young people exploring the future of the earth.

‘New Beginning’ is an hour long immersive experience designed to make its audience think about what the earth may look like in the future.

The audience is involved in the piece from the outset where they’re shown to their seats by one of the cast and involved in conversation about their own thoughts.

While the set is not extravagant, it is the centrepiece of the production and reaches beyond the stage with elements out in the audience.

The young people ensure the audience are entirely involved with the production by seating themselves within those observing when not on stage themselves and frequently reaching out to them with props representing small pieces of the earth we are seeing be formed.

It is nice to see young people with such passion about a topic, especially one they will feel the consequences of the most.

A thought-provoking piece.
