Investigation launched after man dies in Brentwood High Street

An investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Brentwood.

Police were contacted yesterday at 8.55am following reports a man had been found unwell in the High Street.

Officers and paramedics attended the scene but he was pronounced dead.

His death is now being treated as suspicious and an investigation is underway.

A 47-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in the evening on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody for questioning.
