Man charged after group fight at Chafford Hundred train station

A man has been charged in connection with a group fight at Chafford Hundred train station which left two people injured.

Officers were called to reports of the incident at around 8.15pm on Thursday, 18 July.

Two people were found with non life-threatening injuries.

Warrants were carried out in Chafford Hundred and Grays overnight on Saturday into Sunday and two men were arrested.

One of those men – 25 year-old Matthew Page, of Grenville Road, Chafford Hundred – has now been charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public space.

He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday, 22 July).

The other man arrested – a 53 year-old from Grays – has been released on bail until 2 September.

In a statement, Essex Police said: “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we need anyone with information to come forward.
