An East Ham man who stabbed two people following an argument, killing one of them, has been found guilty of murder.
Keith Nelson, 51 of Mountsfield Road, was found guilty of the murder of 34-year-old Alfred Purcell at the Old Bailey earlier today
He had previously pleaded guilty to maliciously wounding a second victim during the same attack which took place in East Ham.
Nelson will be sentenced tomorrow.
Detective Inspector Domenica Catino, who led the investigation, said: “Nelson, incensed after a dispute with Alfred, picked up two knives knowing full well the fatal consequences that could result.
“He did not hesitate to use extreme violence. Sadly, Alfred lost his life and a second victim suffered injury as a result of his action. Nelson is a dangerous man who now faces a long spell behind bars.”
