Man charged with Whitechapel murder

Detectives have charged a man with murder in Tower Hamlets

A teenager has been charged with the murder of a 43-year-old woman in Whitechapel.

Tiprat Argatu was found dead with neck and head injuries at an address on Ellen Street on 24 January.

An investigation was launched after police were called to the property at 8.17am.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the killing on Sunday, but has been released with no further action.

19-year-old David Cheres is due to appear at the Central Criminal Court on 29 January.
