Almost 100 firefighters are dealing with a blaze at a recycling plant in Barking.
Crews have been called to River Road with 15 fire engines at the scene.
A large part of the factory is alight and a cordon has been put in place due to gas cylinders at the plant.
Firefighters are likely to be on the scene for a number of hours.
Thames Road is currently closed in both directions due to the building fire between River Road and Renwick Road.
Travel delays aren’t being helped by an accident on the A13 at the Beckton and East Ham junction.
The cause of the fire is not known.
