UPDATE: Person dies after being hit by a train at Romford station

A person has died after being hit by a train in Romford this morning.

Romford train station was evacuated due to the incident just after 10am.

The London Ambulance Service has confirmed a person was found dead at the scene.

There is currently no service on TfL Rail between Ilford and Shenfield with severe delays between Liverpool Street and Ilford.

Service is also suspended on Greater Anglia between Stratford and Shenfield.

Tickets being accepted on local bus routes and London Underground services.

Due to a person being hit by a train between Ilford and #Shenfield some lines are blocked. Services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until further notice. KB
