Kuts, Mark and Georgiev have all been handed lengthy sentences (Pic-National Crime Agency)
Artem Kuts, of the Isle of Dogs, and Oliver Mark, of Stratford were arrested following a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation.
The pair were found guilty on May 28 following a seven-day trial at Southwark Crown Court.
Today, October 1, Kuts, 39, was handed a 15 year sentence whilst Mark, 40, was handed an eight year stretch.
Alexander Georgiev, also known as Ernis Piranej, of no fixed abode pleaded guilty at an early hearing. He has been jailed for six years.
On October 12, 2020 an NCA surveillance team watched Kuts get into a car registered to Mark carrying a brown paper bag.
Georgiev was seen getting in and out of the car a number of times, each instance he was carrying the brown paper bag.
Armed officers raided the car and found the bag in a footwell, it contained a Russian brand Baikal self-loading pistol and eight rounds of ammunition.
Mark and Kuts were both arrested for possession of a firearm , Georgiev attempted to flee before he was arrested for conspiring to supply a firearm minutes later.
Following searches of Kuts’ home they found two more weapons and 14 rounds of ammunition which has been hidden in his garden.
Jacque Beer, NCA Regional Head of Investigations, said: “Illegal firearms drive serious violence, intimidation and coercion in our communities.
“Seizing handguns like the ones found in the Isle of Dogs, with the help of our partners at the Metropolitan Police Service, protects the public from this grave threat.
“The NCA works tirelessly to stop criminals like Kuts, Mark and Georgiev obtaining firearms and it is only right they should serve long jail sentences for their crimes.”
