Police were called to the collision on Eastern Avenue near the Ellesmere Gardens junction at around 9.15pm last night (Wednesday, 4 December).
A woman believed aged in her 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment by London Ambulance Service.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, she died in hospital.
Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver stopped at the scene.
There has been no arrest and enquiries into the circumstances continue.
