Woman in critical condition after being hit by falling debris in Mile End

A woman is in a critical condition after being hit by falling debris at a building site in Mile End.

Emergency services were called to Burdett Road this morning at the junction with St Pauls Way.

The woman was taken to hospital where she remains critical.

Her next of kin have been informed.

Officers from Tower Hamlets CID are investigating and continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

A forensic scene remains in place.
